This beautiful malt was distilled in 1967 and matured in a single refill hogshead (cask 9559) for 45 years. It was bottled in February 2013 by Douglas Laing under their Director’s Cut series at cask strength. This cask only yielded 169 bottles. Producer's Tasting Notes:Nose: Bees wax on polished wood - sweetly spiced + late vanilla & a toffee'd fruit quality.Palate: Opens with chocolate praline - developing to macerated oranges + sweet, spicy toffee & soft oak. Finish: All replicated on the medium long finish - still sweet, now carrying a spicy tang.
