This malt is from one of the two Diageo distilleries on the Island, Caol Ila, which mostly produces for Diageo blends. Distilled in 1980 and matured for 33 years in a bourbon barrel before it was bottled by Italian independent bottler Samaroli. This makes for an extremely crisp and refreshing dram. Only 240 bottles ever released. A must have for every whisky enthusiast. Strictly 1 bottle per customer only! Producer’s Tasting Note’s: Close your eyes and imagine you are on the ferry deck going to an island. Elegant nose composed of wax and peat. On the palate the iodine fades slowly giving us a restless spirit like the marine currents that converge offshore. A few months of the bottle refining, will make it simply Samaroli.
