The Lowland region of Scotland covers the southernmost part of the country. There are only three active distilleries located in this region, Bladnoch, Auchentoshan, and  Glenkinchie, however one can still find whiskies from now closed Lowland distilleries such as St. Magdalene, Rosebank, Littlemill, and Ladyburn. Traditionally Lowland distilleries use a triple distillation method, results are very light and refreshing whiskies.
