The Whisky Library's private bottle

Our Hunter Laing's Old and Rare private barrel, a 31 year Pittyvaich as a fifty one-bottle limited batch.

The Pittyvaich distillery, built in 1974 by Arthur Bell & Sons, was among the youngest Scottish distilleries while it was operating. It stood near the Dufftown Distillery in Dufftown. Originally built to provide malt whisky for blends, Pittyvaich eventually did release an official bottling in 1991. The distillery was demolished in 2002.This bourbon barrel matured speyside malt is rich and fragrant on the nose with vanilla essence, banana pudding and a beautiful waxiness coming through. In the mouth this waxiness is more pronounced along with vanilla, some grassiness, a hint of orange, some menthol and a mineral quality. The finish is long and robust, with a pleasing oakiness making an appearance.

Similar to the other barrels of Hunter Laing's Old and Rare private bottles, The Whisky Library's Pittyvaich Private Bottles, the labels are specially designed with dragon and phoenix motifs.
