This vintage Cognac comes from a small farm in the Fins Bois region called “La Petite Chapelle”, located near the village of Champmillon. The two plots from which this Cognac originates are organic since 1990, and cultivated by a lady who had taken over from her father at the time and works on her own in the vines. This Cognac aged in a small cellar, on beaten earth. The walls were half buried in the ground and the casks could not be taken out with the eau de vie inside as the door was sealed and blocked off. They had to enter the cellar through the window and pump the batch into a tank.
Straw colour. On the nose, notes of peach and apricot. On the palate, the freshness and spontaneous character of this Cognac is striking. The fruity notes are present, but prolonged by more complex aromas, like those of a dried flower bouquet. The finish amplifies these floral notes (daffodil, narcissus), quickly covered up with more intense notes of grapes and orange zest.
