The Whisky Library's private bottle
The Whisky Library private Cognac! This rare and astonishing Cognac is a marriage of Eau-de-Vie from the 2008 and 2003 harvests exclusively from vines of Folle Blanche planted in chalky soil on grassy land, near the town of St Fort-sur-le-Né. The Folle grape varietal is native to the Charentes, now extremely rare in the region due to phylloxera and sensibility to botrytis. The two harvest were distilled on the dregs, then aged in big grain oak casks. Assemblage and subsequent reduction took 18 months within Grosperrin’s cellars. Vivacious aromas of grapes, butter, lime tree honey, Iris, and Daffodil. Beautifully fresh palate of green apples, passion fruit, pineapple, Jasmine. Balanced and greedy floral finale explodes. Totally natural, unique, and quaint.
