The Girvan distillery is a lowland grain whisky distillery located in South Ayrshire. Owned by William Grant & Sons, Girvan is one of the largest facilities in Scotland in which whisky is made. Known as one of the most energy efficient distilleries in Scotland, the distillery is named after the town of Girvan. The nose is treacle tart and buttered crumpet, with a whisper of spicy oak. The palate is red fruit notes – think strawberry and raspberry. Toasted brown sugar, nutmeg, a hint of cassia. A long finish, with loads of vanilla-rich oak notes piling up.
