An exceptionally well-aged release from the now-closed Imperial Distillery! The distillery was sporadically mothballed throughout its history, and was finally closed in 1998, nine years after this single malt was distilled. The whisky spent the next three decades in a single refill barrel, until Hunter Laing bottled it up at a cask strength of 50.1% ABV. A pale golden coloured whisky with a rich, full-bodied, sweet nose with vanilla custard, stewed apples and red berries. Smooth and fruity on the palate with sweet vanilla tablet and butterscotch all leading to a long, satisfying, pleasant finish.
