This mystery Orkney single malt is Highland Park, distilled in 2000, and left in a single refill hogshead for nearly two decades. At 19 years old, Thompson Bros. bottled it up at cask strength, with 343 bottles released at 57.1% ABV.
On the nose is lemon curd, buttered toast and tangy hints of tropical fruit. The palate is brown sugar, tinned pineapple and banana, with hints of oak char. The finish is peppery oak and earthy vanilla pod.
