This vintage Cognac comes from a small farm, and from a 12-hectare plot of vines located on one of the most beautiful terroir of Petite Champagne, in Salles-deBarbezieux. This small traditional estate produces wine and cereals, and also takes care of a few animals. The vines grow on chalky grounds, making the wines very acidic and direct, which in turn will give the eaux-de-vie great complexity over time. Mainly based on Ugni Blanc, this Cognac was distilled in a very small still on the estate.
▶ Young gold robe. On the nose, aromas of raisins, apricots and peaches left to ripen in the sun, and of candied orange peels fill the glass. The “youthful” green notes are largely compensated on the nose by the complexity of the aromas and of a savoury touch. On the mouth, the attack is frank, and the power of its aromas is confirmed. The finish is quite woody, slightly tingly, but not astringent. Smooth, complex, rich, a great Cognac.
