In the world of Grappa, the name Romano Levi carries a nearly sacred resonance. Nestled in Neive, within Italy’s prestigious Piedmont region, the distillery remains committed to the incredibly rare "Direct Cinder Fire" (Direct Fire Distillation) technique. This primitive and demanding craft requires a master’s touch to navigate the flames, resulting in a spirit of unparalleled texture, weight, and complexity.

Though the legendary maestro Romano has passed, the distillery continues to safeguard the spirit of the "Grappaiolo Angelico" (the Angelic Distiller), ensuring every drop embodies the raw honesty of traditional Italian craftsmanship.

The Selection Philosophy: An Eight-Year Amber Symphony

Personally selected by our expert team, this Ambrata (Amber) expression has matured in wood for a full 8 years—a remarkable age statement in the realm of artisanal Grappa.

Unlike younger, unaged Grappa, this 8-year maturation allows the spirit to "breathe" within the cask, developing an elegant depth. Bottled at 50% ABV, it precisely captures the aromatic essence of the grape pomace and the warm spices of the wood, maintaining a flawless structural balance and a silky, powerful mouthfeel.

Tasting Notes

• Appearance: A brilliant deep amber; viscous and heavy-set on the glass.

• Nose: Initially greets you with rich aromas of dried fruits, figs, and roasted almonds, followed by the signature Romano Levi herbal notes and a delicate hint of wild floral honey.

• Palate: Round and vibrating with tension. An elegant marriage of caramel and aged tobacco on the entry, swiftly followed by the lush fruitiness of matured grape pomace. A subtle, smoky undertone from the direct-fire distillation weaves throughout.
