Invergordon Distillery was founded in 1959 and started operations in 1961. The distillery has a reputation for consistency and quality in grain whisky production. The name "Invergordon" reflects the distillery's location near the town of Invergordon in the Highlands, an area historically known for its whisky-making heritage. Scotland grain whisky is characterised by its smooth, light, and mellow profile, making it ideal for blending. This 55 years old single cask single grain whisky was distilled by Invergordon Distillery in 1966, bottled by Douglas Laing under XOP series, only 95 bottles were produced. Aromas of autumn fruit, brown sugar & clove studded oranges fill the nose, complemented by notes of delicious vanilla, warming oak and milk chocolate throughout the palate, extremely rich & lovely smooth texture. |
