Exceptional Single Cask

XOP: The “big brother” to the Old Particular range, Xtra Old Particular. XOP bottlings represent the Douglas Laing “family jewels”. We reserve the most spectacular and unique Single Casks from the family stocks to be released under this label. Each expression, presented in a luxurious wooden box, carries a heavy-weight glass stopper and individually numbered certificate and label, honouring the antique Single Malt or Single Grain it carries.

Each cask selected for Xtra Old Particular is personally curated by Cara and Fred Laing; their tireless commitment to perfection, exceptionally refined palates and unmatched passion for Scotch Whisky combining to ensure each sip is nothing short of extraordinary. Always at Cask Strength and staunchly presented without colouring or chill-filtration, savour every sip of the iconic drop of history offered by XOP.

Old Particular: Old Particular is a particularly unique series of individually hand-selected, aged Single Cask Single Malts and Single Grains from all over Scotland. Each is bottled exactly the way the Distiller intended: without colouring or chill-filtration, and at high alcohol strength. This combination allows the cask to retain the naturally present oils, fats and enzymes in the spirit that enhance the quality of the nose, the mouthfeel and flavour profile of the Whisky. Keeping the spirit “as natural as it gets” allows you to experience the Whisky straight from the cask, transporting you to a dark, damp Distillery warehouse with every sip.

Provenance:  Provenance marks the beginning of our Exceptional Single Casks journey, which encompasses four distinct, yet complementary ranges – Provenance, Premier Barrel, Old Particular and XOP (Xtra Old Particular). For Provenance, Douglas Laing bottle extraordinary Single Cask Single Malts from a vast range of Scotland’s Whisky Distilleries. Each bottling is offered to you “as natural as it gets” – at 46% alcohol strength or higher, and without colouring or chill-filtration.
