The Whisky Library's private bottle!
The Glen Elgin Distillery dates back all the way to 1898 and it's situated in the Speyside region. Using six stills and six wooden worm tubs, Glen Elgin produces a wonderfully fruity flavoursome spirit which is very popular among blenders. This whisky is the epitome of well matured Speyside single malt.
On the nose, it is vanilla, honey, caramel and orange blossom in perfect harmony. Soft and fruity on the palate, the silken mouthfeel is complemented with a malty base, some pears and a very faint tough of aniseed. The finish lingers with a satisfying oakiness on the tail.
This Whisky Library's private bottle produced only 145 bottles. Bottled at natural cask strength 55.8% and is un-chill filtered to ensure that the personality of this cask remains.
