Old Particular Single Casks are a particularly sought-after range of individually-selected Single Malt and Single Grain Scotch Whiskies from all over Scotland. Each is bottled exactly the way the Distiller intended: without colouring or chill-filtration, and at high alcohol strength. This combination allows the cask to retain the naturally present oils, fats and enzymes in the spirit that enhance the quality of the nose, the mouthfeel and flavour profile of the Whisky.
Fettercairn is one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland. It was founded in 1824 by Sir Alexander Ramsay, the owner of the estate on which the distillery is located. Fettercairn has a fairly spectacular location, even for a Scottish Single Malt distillery. Tucked away between the foothills of the Grampian Mountains of the Eastern Highlands, it enjoys an outstanding view down the glen in which it’s located.
It opens with a herbal and earthy quality, carrying mint and barley from the glass. On the palate, red fruits, blackberries and a touch of peppermint. More fruit, citrus, long and solid finish.

One of just 316 bottles, filled from a refill hogshead number DL17030, at the series regular strength of 48.4% ABV to maintain drinkability, and is non-chill-filtered to ensure that the personality of this cask remains.
