Tomatin is one of the largest distilleries in the Highlands. Yet at one point in the 1970s it was the largest distillery in Scotland: founded in 1897, the real expansion at Tomatin took place between 1956 and 1974, during which period the number of stills increased from 2 to 23.
This independently bottled Tomatin was initially matured in a hogshead before being transferred and finished in a Cognac Barrique for 27 months. Released at 50% ABV by Thompson Bros., expect plenty of character from this 14-year-old Highland single malt.
This whisky is an incredibly complex and well-balanced dram, perfect for whisky enthusiasts and collectors alike.
Only 490 bottles were produced.
