Speyburn distillery has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1897. It is situated near the town of Rothes in the heart of the Spey Valley, which is renowned for its whisky production. The location was chosen due to its proximity to the Granty Burn, a water source with a reputation for providing high-quality water for whisky production.
The nose opens up with Toffee, strawberries and maltiness. A gentle harmony of brown sugar, chocolate orange with toasted almond. in the mouth. The finish is long, morish and dessert-like.
One of 669 bottles that was charged from a single PX sherry butt, this single malt from Speyburn was allowed to mature for 15 years.
