Some red apples and Damson’s add a rich opening to the nose of red fruits and soft sweet, spiced candy, some subtle vanilla and strawberry ice-cream, caramel wafers and soft toffee sauce. A creamy dark fruits flavour on the palate, with soft sweet figs, some Turkish delight and hints of toasted pink marshmallow, dates and almonds add a rich mid palate that leads to a lingering fruits and soft spices, red velvet and whipped strawberry cream, hard toffee and vanilla in the finish as the influence of the bourbon and sherry casks seamlessly integrate.
This expression was distilled in 2010 and laid down to mature initially in an oak hogsheads, later spending 31 months finishing in sherry hogsheads for a total maturation time of 11 years. One of a limited release of 401 bottles, this whisky has been bottled at a strength of 50% abv.
