Description

Glenrothes distillery was founded in 1879 with the vision to create "the world's most elegant whisky", The Glenrothes' founders sought to create a lighter spirit that would be a harmonious counter to the norm. For nearly 150 years, The Glenrothes has been bringing this vision to life, distilling a spirit of unparalleled elegance that matures in a truly distinctive way. There are a number of factors that help to create this award-winning Single Malt Scotch Whisky,

The nose starts fruity, ripe apricots, tangerines, oak spice, honey, powdered sugar, honey, a touch of earthiness, vanilla and orchard fruits. The texture of this whisky is lovely. It has a very thick and rich body, oily, waxy & mouth-coating. Lot of red fruits, woody note that dries the mouth slightly, hazelnuts, some maple syrup and toasted almonds. Long & elegant finish, warm & fruity, vanilla & toffee, espresso & milk chocolate, peppery & a hint of smoked ham.

This 24 year old Glenrothes was distilled in 1997 and is one of 269 bottles produced by Thompson bros.
