Another exceptionally old vintage grain whisky created by the multi award winning independent bottler Douglas Laing. From their Xtra Old Particular single cask range this bottle is limited to just 159 bottles.
Fresh fruit salad coupled with a damp, spiced oak character on the nose. The palate is deliciously thick with a real creamy texture, showing a moreish caramel cream quality and honeyed cereal. The long finish linger wonderfully with a citrus tang alongside zesty hard candy and syrup.
This long-aged 45 year old Lowland single grain was laid down in April 1976 at the Caledonian distillery, which sadly closed in 1988, then specially bottled for Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular range in September 2021.
