The Whisky Library's private bottle
Our Hunter Laing's Old and Rare private barrel, a 29 year Glen Elgin as a 145 bottles limited batch.
The Glen Elgin Distillery dates back all the way to 1898, and it's situated up in the Speyside region. Using six stills and six wooden worm tubs, Glen Elgin produces a wonderfully fruity, flavoursome spirit which is very popular among blenders. This whisky is the epitome of well matured speyside single malt on the nose, with vanilla, honey, caramel and orange blossom in perfect harmony. Soft and fruity on the palate, the silken mouthfeel is complemented with a malty base, some pears and a very faint tough of aniseed. The finish lingers with a satisfying oakiness on the tail.
Similar to the other barrels of Hunter Laing's Old and Rare private bottles, The Whisky Library's Glen Elgin Private Bottles, the labels are specially designed with dragon and phoenix motifs.
