Douglas Laing's Premier Barrel Selection, which is inspired by the "good old days" of Victorian Music Hall. The malts that fill into this unique ceramic decanter are selected from single casks hailed from many whisky regions in Scotland.
The Lochranza distillery is located on the Isle of Arran, after which it was initially named. In 2019, Lagg, the second distillery on the island, opened. As a result, Arran renamed itself Lochranza to better distinguish it. However, the Single Malt Whisky is still available under the Arran brand.
One of just 336 bottles hand filled decanters, regular strength of 46% ABV to maintain drinkability, and is no colouring and non-chill filtered to ensure that the personality of this cask remains.
On the nose, a coastal freshness is immediately apparent developing to malted barley and lemon drops. Creamy and thick and moreish! Expect salted caramel and gentle sea-spray in the mouth. This is a maritime character finish that fades to toasted oak and sweet seaweed.
