Hunter Laing as one of the most established brands in the Independently Bottled Whisky market, its single malt series - Old Malt Cask, has spent twenty years as one of the market leaders in the single cask category. As the reputation of Hunter Laing rests on the quality of each release, they aim to ensure that each new bottling delights the consumer as much as the last one. Speyburn distillery has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1897. It is situated near the town of Rothes in the heart of the Spey Valley, which is renowned for its whisky production. The location was chosen due to its proximity to the Granty Burn, a water source with a reputation for providing high-quality water for whisky production. This Whisky Library's private bottle produced only 360 bottles. It is bottled at 50% strength to maintain drinkability, and is non-chillfiltered to ensure that the personality of this cask remains. The nose opens up with mellow lemon meringue pie. A gentle harmony of orchard fruits, brown sugar and cinnamon in the mouth. The finish is long, sweet and warming - lingers on more baking spices. |
