Thompson Bros have only been around since 2016, but over the past couple of years have shown a really good eye for single cask rums, in particular they seem to really enjoy and appreciate the funky style of rum that comes from Jamaica and the heavy style adopted by the now defunct Caroni Distillery, Trinidad and now both styles of rum are extremely popular in Rum Enthusiasts circles.
This Jamaican Rum offers pronounced summer fruits, sweet honey, and a strong spice finish. Funky, with hints of wood and vanilla, it’s complex yet sometimes challenging.
Super-fruity single cask Jamaican rum from Hampden distillery, distilled in 2009 and matured in cask for 12 years. Another fabulous label for this single cask release, bottled by indie bottlers, Thompson Bros. 322 bottles filled at 62.1% vol.
