You are about to release a 2000 Nicaragua and a 2010 Trinidad blend out of its bottle.
A meeting point. To the right the Caribbean, to the left the Pacific. This is where the first humans to populate South America, then the Conquistadores, after that Westerners and dictators journeyed through, leaving lost cultures behind them. We stand on a bridge between South and North America, not forgetting east and west.
This rum inherits such pure, harsh and perhaps military discipline. Long on savouring, fine and subtle with olfactive variations coming alive to a martial rhythm. Still in the nose as we taste, an ordered, tidy array of grasses gives over to extravagant arpeggios. It leaves us fulfilled but never sated.
