The founder is a beekeeper with nearly 50 years of experience, dedicated to crafting with all-natural organic wild honey and juniper berries to honor the hardworking bees. Handcrafted in Montpelier, Vermont, Barr Hill has a mission to tightly connect the art of distilling with agriculture, supporting sustainable rural development and bee conservation. Every bottle supports local American agriculture and biodiversity. The brand sees itself as a steward of the land, a friend to farmers, and a protector of bees, using locally sourced raw honey and naturally grown juniper to create a unique and eco-friendly craft gin. The gin is distilled in a custom botanical extraction still with only one distillation, primarily using wild juniper berries and locally harvested raw honey. This imparts a unique, complex flavour profile and rich mouthfeel. The raw honey derives from naturally collected floral nectar, balancing floral aromas and sweetness that reflect the local agricultural terroir. Barr Hill Gin is excellent for sipping neat, and also highly recommended by bartenders for the classic Bee's Knees and Tom Collins cocktails. The gin features delicate flavours and a thick texture with floral and herbal spice notes, making it suitable for Martinis as well.
