The Whisky Library的雅文邑白蘭地系列,除了Armagnac Château de Léberon外,還有另一大受歡迎的酒莊 ---- Armagnac Domaine d'Aurensan。
兩個雅文邑白蘭地酒莊,同樣由Family Rozès家族營運主理, Château de Léberon始於13世紀, Domaine d'Aurensan始於19世紀。同樣位於Tenarze地區,風格同樣濃厚強烈,而Domaine d'Aurensan甚至帶有甘甜的普洱茶感,風格獨樹一幟。
Domaine d’Aurensan,他們一年四季細心照料葡萄園,每一步修剪、去枝、搭架都由人手完成,這些都決定了葡萄品質和葡萄藤的壽命。且只在葡萄達到高酸低糖的蒸餾最佳成熟度時才採摘,天然純淨是他們的堅持。

現時Domaine d’Aurensan的家族成員主要有父親Bernard和兩位女兒Sophie與Caroline:
父親Bernard,從祖父和父親那裡傳承了雅文邑白蘭地的種植和釀製奧秘。他擁有地質工程師背景,對土壤與葡萄藤的關係非常了解,並在酒窖工作超過50年。
長姐Sophie,負責推動酒莊向有機種植轉型。擁有獸醫學位的Sophie,熟悉地下微生物與生物動力法,推廣理性葡萄栽培種植,認為葡萄藤是自然環境中不可分割的一部分。
妹妹Caroline,曾在巴黎香水品牌工作十年,熟悉天然香料的複雜性,積極參與家族酒莊的營運和香氣研究。
這樣的家庭背景,讓他們在雅文邑釀造與葡萄種植中結合傳統與科學,也融合了歷史傳承、環境尊重與對品質的執著。他們既推動有機和生物動力栽培, 亦堅持自然釀酒,造就濃郁飽滿的獨特雅文邑。

【Armagnac Domain d'Aurensan 1958 / 70cl 40% / Domaine D'Aurensan】
The Whisky Library’s Armagnac collection features not only Armagnac Château de Léberon but also another highly popular estate — Armagnac Domaine d’Aurensan.
Both Armagnac producers are run by the Family Rozès. Château de Léberon dates back to the 13th century, while Domaine d’Aurensan was founded in the 19th century. Both family estates have always been grower-producers (Propriétaires Récoltants), located in the Tenarèze region. They share a robust and intense style, with Domaine d’Aurensan even offering a rich, sweet Pu-erh tea note.
Domaine d’Aurensan carefully tends to the vineyard year-round according to the needs of the vines, paying special attention to pruning, removing young shoots, and training the vines—tasks all done by hand to ensure grape quality and vine longevity. Harvest only takes place when the grapes reach the ideal distillation ripeness, characterized by high acidity and low sugar content.
Their Armagnac crafting process is entirely natural, without adding any winemaking by-products like yeast or sulfur. They adhere strictly to a high-quality “3 Zero Armagnac” philosophy — zero added sugar, zero water added, and zero food additives.
The cellar’s high humidity allows for slow and gradual aging. Their traditional “pièces” oak barrels, around 420 liters each, are made from oak sourced from their own forest, imparting unique aromas that slowly develop over time as the spirit matures. Bottling is done entirely by hand on the estate, without cold filtration, and each bottle’s back label shows the bottling year.
Currently, the family members managing Domaine d’Aurensan include the father, Bernard, and his two daughters Sophie and Caroline:
- Bernard inherited the secrets of Armagnac viticulture and distillation passed down from his grandfather and father. With a background in geological engineering, he understands the relationship between soil and vines deeply and has worked in the cellar for over 50 years.
- The eldest daughter Sophie drives the estate’s transition to organic farming. Holding a veterinary degree, she is knowledgeable about soil microorganisms and biodynamic principles, promoting rational viticulture and viewing vines as integral to their natural environment.
- Caroline, the younger daughter, spent ten years in Paris working for a perfume brand, mastering the complexity of natural aromas. She actively participates in the family estate’s operations and aroma research.
This family background blends tradition with science, combining historical heritage, environmental respect, and relentless pursuit of quality—together crafting Armagnacs with full-bodied, rich, and unique flavors. The whole family is dedicated to organic and biodynamic cultivation and insists on traditional, natural winemaking methods.
