“Thropaigeach” translates to “tropical” in Gaelic. For this special bottling, Big Peat’s signature Islay blended malt recipe was finished in hand-selected Caribbean rum casks—yielding a bold, buccaneer-like masterpiece that seamlessly fuses coastal peat with rich tropical fruitiness.
Revelry on the Palate
- Nose: Pouring it into the glass, the initial whiff delivers Big Peat’s trademark peated barley and intense smoke. Almost instantly, however, it softens into a warm blend of cozy spices and toasted marshmallows over an open fire.
- Palate: The mouthfeel is deliciously oily, thick, and coating. Flambéed banana notes lead the charge, intermingling with savory barbecue meat and honeyed malt umami before meeting Islay’s signature wave of sea salt.
