There's no bargain quite like an old single grain Scotch and we have another one here, this time from North British Distillery.
The nose starts by banana milkshake drenched porridge, sawdust, dried apricots, and a few roasted coffee beans. the palate turns buttery pastries lined with sultanas and drizzled in chocolate syrup, with some floral sweetness in the backdrop. Medium to long finish with drying oak spice, Crème Pâtissière, vanilla and crème brûlée remains.
This 30 year old North British Single Grain was distilled in 1988 and is one of 311 bottles produced, at cask strength of 51.7% abv. free from chill filtration and artificial colouring.
