Bunnahabhain distillery is located on the north east coast of Islay. The distillery was built in 1881 by William Robertson (of Robertson & Baxter) in partnership with Greenlees Bros. It is currently operated by Burn Stewart Distillers. The mash tun of Bunnahabhain is one of the biggest in Scotland which can hold 12.5 tonnes and their stills are the tallest on Islay, with unusually long swan necks. This results in a lighter body and a more delicate flavour profile.

This 15-year-old is sweet on the nose: notes of honey, caramel and stewed pears. On the palate is fruit crumble, custard and maltiness. The sweet and fruity finish is long and pleasant with a touch of white pepper.

This single cask Bunnahabhain had been aged for 15 years and discharged from a Oloroso cask. Bottled by Duncan Taylor, under The Octave series, only 95 bottles were produced.
