Cameronbridge was founded in 1824 and in 1830 became the first distillery to produce grain whisky using the column still method invented by Robert Stein. Cameronbridge produced both grain and malt whisky using a combination of pot stills and column stills until 1929, when it shifted exclusively to grain whisky production. It is currently the largest of the remaining grain distilleries in Scotland and is owned by Diageo. The Whisky in the bright blue bottle was produced in a partnership with David Beckham. This 30-year-old is sweet on the nose, doughy cookies with milk chocolate chunks, salted pretzels, and zesty sugared citrus peels . On the palate is wonderfully dulcet with crème brûlée, honey, tobacco and vanilla. Candied pecans and creamy vanilla finish things up, with a dash of marmalade and silky caramel. |
