The Craigellachie distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Aberlour, Banffshire near the village of Craigellachie at the centre of the Speyside whisky producing area of Scotland. The name Craigellachie means 'rocky hill' and refers to the cliff that overlooks the Spey across from The Macallan distillery.
The nose brings fresh lime, petals, sweet toffee, nutty and toasted oak. The palate bursts with Pineapple, lime, citrus with fragrance of oaks, cured meats with an underlying sweetness. The finish is long zesty, with scents of sandalwood.
A 2009 vintage 13 year old scotch whisky distilled at Craigellachie Distillery in Speyside. This is a vatting of two refill hogsheads bottled by the Thompson Bros with an out-turn of 628 bottles.
